Racism: The Professor vs The Sgt, Should they reconcile?

In light of top story in Cambridge, Massachusetts where the Harvard Professor Gates was arrested by Sgt. [James] Crowley for “loud and tumultuous behavior in a public space”. This story has gained national attention, which brings racism as the topic of discussion.

On The Power of One voice I will have Victoria Colby, criminal defense attorney from Toronto to give her perspective on the issue of race. She can be heard on her internet show www.blogtalkradio.com/tazmanialives

They may not have to reconcile, but they would certaintly foster a much-needed dialogue on the state of racism today if they would just put aside their pride and explain what really happened. I blame the media for fueling their silence. It would not be the first time that the media has put pressure on anyone to come out and speak, then totally brutalize what the intended message is. President Obama is a perfect living example of media scrutiny, even in this particular case.
