DJ Kool Herc Has No Health Insurance but Needs Medical Attention

After reading some comments on VLADTV.com about DJ Kool Herc needing money for his medical situation. I took to twitter to air out my perspective.

Some people really expect DJ Kool Herc to have all this money because of what he contributed to hip hop. What some of you may fail to realize is that the cost of any form of medical treatment is expensive, especially without insurance.

To read some of the ignorant comments asking why hasn’t Kool Herc ‘stacked any paper’ to pay for his medical bills is asinine. I have a job with benefits, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I have enough to cover an operation or whatever. This entire situation with Kool Herc is a mere reflection of the hideous health care issues we face as Americans. It makes no sense to have this new health care plan but unemployment continues to rise. How can u get health insurance with no job?

Some of you rappers will pay for gold teeth, but you’re better off getting a dental plan.

Great point Hines Ward made about the NFL in regards to extending the NFL season to 18 games but want to limit concussions. Hines Ward said, “If they’re so worried about what concussions will do to us after our careers, then guarantee our insurance for life,” He also said, “And if you’re going to fine me for a hit, let the money go to veteran guys to help with their medical issues.”

In my opinion, Health Care providers and Pharmaceutical Companies are the REAL drug dealers. One is the supplier the other is the dealer. In conclusion, I would like to see how many rappers and hip hop DJ’s step up to the plate and help a Hip Hop Pioneer, DJ Kool Herc…
