August 30, 2012–RIchmond, Virginia: Effective immediately, veteran radio personality Sean Anthony “The Motivator” is no longer employed by Radio One Richmond. Both parties met today at Radio One offices in Virginia to discuss the separation. Anthony has released a personal statement regarding the news:
“The purpose for this statement today is to inform you that I am no longer an employee for Radio One Richmond. We have agreed to part ways. I want to thank Jeff Anderson for giving me an opportunity to showcase my gifts and talents here in the city of Richmond, Virginia. I also want to thank the on-air team for the support they have shown me the past four years. More importantly, I want to thank my co-host, best friend and brother Big Keith. We have been riding this thing together for almost a decade. Now, it is time for us to turn the page and begin a new chapter. Lastly, I want to thank the listeners in the city of Richmond. You have opened up your hearts to embrace me. I am beyond excited and looking forward to the new opportunities that await me. I will be taking this valuable time to focus on expanding Flow of Wisdom Radio. Thank you again for all of your support over the years.” – Sean Anthony
Sean Anthony was a successful Radio One employee since 1998, earning exemplary ratings for his night show through 2004. Since 2004, Sean Anthony has worked as a weeknight on-air personality alongside co-host “Big” Keith Jones in Columbus, Ohio, Detroit, Michigan, and Richmond, Virginia.
In his statement, Anthony mentions a “new chapter” for both himself and Keith Jones. He also states that he will be focusing on the expansion of his popular talk radio show Flow Of Wisdom Radio.
