Virginia Gov. Shocks Richmond with Budget Cuts

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, proposed new budget cuts for Virginia, which created a frenzy within the city of Richmond. These cuts will affect Education, the less fortunate who look for assistance from the state, Medicaid and so on.

Do you think these cuts are fair? Will they affect you? Leave your comments and have a healthy discussion and I will read your comments on my radio show.

I am a local business owner i listen to your show this morning and i could not get thru bu if the state wants to save money they can start by calling your senate to pass HB728 which can save 25million dollars of taxpayers money. What does it do? The bill would resrict pretrial services agencies to release those who are indigent as determined by a court pursuant to te provisions of 19.2-159. It would end the use of tax payer funds to release criminal defendants who can afford to pay thei own way..The bill does not cut funding to localities. The bill would not create jail overcrowding as judges could still release people into pretrail services at arraignment. This bill does not eliminate pretrial services.private Bail Bondsmen proviide cost savings for he state of virginia .HB728 would result in modest increase in revenue from bond forfeitures. Hb 728 would not significntly increase the number of prisoners in jail awaiting trail.
