Well the Governor of California is. Gov. Jerry Brown has made California the first state to require that public school textbooks include the achievements of gay, lesbian and transgender Americans. When I first heard this news report my mouth hit the floor. It baffles me to see this type of ideology be made into a law. How can this curriculum benefit the leaders of our future? History should highlight events and people that have made drastic impacts in our country and the world. Gov. Brown is clear about his priorities, while other countries excel in math and science, the United States is failing in those areas. A percentage of public school students can’t even read fluently.
